Pastoral Support Assistant - Lambeth
Role: Pastoral Support Assistant
Location: Lambeth (near Stockwell Station)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: £95-£115 per day

About the Role
A supportive Lambeth primary school is seeking a Pastoral Support Assistant to work with pupils across upper KS2 who require emotional and behavioural support to fully access learning. This is a non-class-based role, focused on wellbeing, regulation, and re-engagement rather than academic intervention alone.
As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will support pupils during transitions, deliver short wellbeing sessions, and provide targeted one-to-one support following incidents of dysregulation. You'll work closely with the SENCo and pastoral lead as part of a well-established inclusion team.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant who:
Has experience supporting children with SEMH or emotional needs
Is calm, resilient, and confident managing challenging situations
Can build trusting relationships with older primary pupils
Understands restorative and trauma-informed approaches
What the School Offers
A strong pastoral and safeguarding structure
Clear referral systems and behaviour plans
Regular supervision and staff support
