Reeson Education is recruiting for energetic Playworkers to work on a casual, zero-hours basis across breakfast clubs in St Albans and surrounding areas. This Playworker role is perfect for someone who loves working with children and wants the flexibility to choose shifts that suit them, typically between 7:30am-9am.
The Role: As a Playworker, you'll be supervising and engaging children during breakfast club sessions before the school day begins. This Playworker position offers complete flexibility on a zero-hours contract, allowing you to pick up shifts across different schools when it suits your schedule while creating a safe, fun start to children's day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising children during breakfast club sessions from approximately 7:30am-9am
- Creating a calm, welcoming environment where children can eat breakfast and socialize
- Organizing quiet activities, games, and free play before the school day
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working as a Playworker or in a similar childcare role
- A friendly, reliable approach with strong communication skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child supervision
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts and across different school settings
- Desirable: First Aid qualification or experience with breakfast club provision
