Are you a trained mainstream primary teacher looking to take a step into Special Educational Needs?

Do you have strong behaviour management skills and are keen in working with students who come from difficult homes and display limited social and emotional awareness and challenging behaviour?

Do you have the skills and subject knowledge to work as a PPA teacher with challenging pupils where you have to adapt constantly to the needs of pupils, curriculum and class dynamics?

Are you interested in working with smaller sized classrooms of around 4-6 students?

Would you benefit form having reduced (minimal) planning responsibilities?

Do you want a job that is both challenging and highly rewarding?

If so then this SEMH/Alternative Provision PPA Primary Teacher role is for you!

For this Lambeth PPA SEMH Primary Teacher post you will be required to teach class sizes of 6-8 and all students that have been temporarily or permanently excluded from mainstream education. Generally the students will have very challenging behaviour and you will face different challenges throughout the day. On the other hand this role is very rewarding and can offer progression for somebody looking for a step up in their career. Additionally for the most part all planning will be provided for you and you will be able to focus on delivering lessons and building rapport instead of paperwork. You must have very strong behaviour management skills as all students present varied levels of challenging behaviour.

This is a really good Alternative Provision Centre staring in September. You would be working in a KS3 centre. This role would bring additional responsibilities in terms of learning and assessment as well as supporting other teachers. Typically, the senior teachers will start on 36k but there is scope for higher salaries for more experienced staff and the right candidate may have a good chance of joining the leadership team. Ideally they would like someone with a primary background and I thought you'd be a good fit.

This Lambeth independent therapeutic special school provides innovative, specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. it is widely acknowledged as leading the way in providing outstanding specialist provision for some of London's most complex children.

As a result, they rapidly develop pupil's emotional well-being, willingness to learn, social and life skills, behaviour for learning and academic progress.
