SEMH Teacher - Float

Are you an experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher looking for a new and exciting opportunity? Look no further! We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our lovely Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harrow as a Float Support on a full-time, long-term basis, with an immediate start.

Responsibilities of a Float Teacher:

  • Provide comprehensive academic and pastoral support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring that individual student needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the school's leadership team and subject specialists to develop and implement tailored learning plans for students.
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts in a calm and empathetic manner.
  • Regularly assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback to students and their families.
  • Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure a holistic approach to student support and development.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, in collaboration with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievements, and any additional support provided.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated with the latest developments in SEMH education.
