This beautiful and diverse Special School in East London is looking for a skilled SEN TA to work with Secondary age pupils with complex needs.
Students have a range of needs including Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Nonverbal, Wheelchair, Sensory Impairment.
Classes range from 6 - 8 students, each of these classes have the support of 3 adults who work closely as a team to support pupils. There is a focus on Sensory learning and Speech and Language Development. Learning is carefully tailored to suit each individual child's needs so you will often work 1-1 with students to help them reach their goals!
A large number of the students have Autism and there can be challenging behaviour.
As a TA at this School based on the Secondary site working with pupils aged 11 - 16 years, you will be supporting the class Teacher, you will help deliver learning activities, encouraging students with their academic progress and also managing behavior in class.
This role would really suit a confident and caring TA, Support or Care Worker who has experience working with complex needs.
