This is an opportunity for you to join a phenomenal School team. Please read on and apply below!

The School:

This School is based in Central London, Zone 1 with excellent transport links and Inner London pay scales.

The School caters for students aged 4-19 years with Autism and SLD. Their Primary base is a hub of positivity, colour and creativity! It's well-equipped with the best resources and sensory equipment in the market including Hydro-Therapy Pool with specifically trained staff. Children are beautifully behaved and there is set boundaries for behaviour meaning every member of staff is supported when issues rarely arise. One of the Schools biggest strengths is their links to both parents and the community. All staff share the aim of helping to ensure every pupil reaches their potential, and has fun whilst doing it!

The most recent Ofsted for this School rated it Outstanding and praised staff for the collaborative efforts and unique Curriculum, tailored to each students needs.

The Class:

This Class is a high needs class where all students have a diagnosis of Autism and SLD. The 5 pupils in the class are non-verbal and working at low cognitive ability levels - P Levels. Pupils enjoy a highly sensory based curriculum and therefore require a Teacher who understands and enjoys this teaching. If you are creative and can think outside of the box to create sensory stories, journeys and learning activities, then this is the Class for you. If you have a good sense of P Levels and how to get the most from students in their individual learning goals then you could do wonders with this class! The Class benefits from 2 full-time LSA's who are highly skilled in supporting Autism. There is also a parallel Teacher, a lady who has worked at the School for 4 years and is happy to act as a Mentor and support to the new Teacher as they settle in. In this collaborative environment, team work is really encouraged, workload and planning is shared and it really makes for a positive and peaceful teaching environment.

You:

The successful SEN Teacher would need to have QTS, QTLS or overseas equivalent teaching qualification.

You would also need experience teaching children with similar Special Needs.

The School will invite you for a trial day in the first instance to meet staff and children and see if this is right for you!
