The Job

This successful Primary SEN School is seeking to appoint an excellent and experienced SEN Teacher for a maternity cover post starting in ASAP for the rest of the academic year.

You will teach a class of students in Key Stage 1 with various needs including Autism and SLD. The school benefits from excellent staffing ratios, small class sizes and a highly personalised approach to learning. The class consists of no more than 7 pupils with needs are complex and you will have the full-time support of 2 skilled Teaching Assistants. Many of the students are non-verbal so alternative communication systems are used such as PECs. You will deliver a highly adapted curriculum, sensory based, to develop students basic skills in Maths and English and Fine Motor Skills.

The Ideal Applicant

Due to this complexity and challenge the school are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who has at least 2 years recent experience teaching in a similar environment in the UK delivering to children with the same needs and challenges.
