The Post 16 Teacher Job:

REESON Education are currently looking for a SEN Teacher to work in the Post 16 phase in a fantastic SEN school in Haringey to start immediately. This is an incredible opportunity to work within an outstanding, non-maintained special school situated in the borough of Haringey. This is a maternity SEN Teacher cover and will most likely become permanent for the right candidate. This school specialises in educating students with Autism and therefore the successful SEN teacher needs to have previous experience working with ASD children. This specific SEN Teacher role will be working as a class teacher, with groups over the age of 16 and teaching classroom sizes of 6 - 9 this includes working with pupils on a 1:1 basis. As an SEN teacher in this school you will have access to fantastic resources and highly supportive team (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts.)

The School:

This outstanding special school is situated in Haringey and was established in the late 90's. They have approximately 100 students between the ages of 4 -19 and have over 140 members of staff. They can support pupils with high and low functioning autism. It is the school's priority to make sure each student has an individual focus, that is not only enjoyable but age appropriate. This school has fantastic amenities for members of staff. They have free breakfast for all of their employee's, they are part of the cycle scheme, hold annual staff awards and can provide their employees with personal and professional development.

The Headteacher is incredibly successful and is highly valued by all members of staff. They are looking for someone who is confident, driven, eager to learn, flexible and can take initiative. As this vacancy is an immediate start it is key for any new member of staff that joins the school that a smooth transition takes place, in order to create minimal disruption for the students.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children with complex needs in either a mainstream or a special school. We need someone who is highly confident in supporting students with complex needs.
