The SEN Teacher Job

An outstanding SEND school in the London borough of Harrow are seeking to appoint am SEN teacher from September to join their team to cover a member of staff taking a years sabbatical for their MA in SEND through to the end of the 2020/2021 academic year. The position has arisen due to one of their permanent SEN teachers having to move back to Australia due to family issues. This role will last for the duration of the academic year but could become permanent in due course subject to performance.

The Headteacher has indicated that they are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, proactive, flexible SEN Teacher to work in an SLD class of 7 pupils who range between years 5 and 6 in age. The class is supported by 4 experienced LSAs.

This excellent Harrow SEN school has been consistently rated as outstanding and the appointed SEN teacher would benefit from their exceptional training. The school caters to primary and secondary aged pupils who have a range of needs including severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The successful SEN Teacher applicant will be taking on the full responsibilities of a permanent member of staff and will be expected to undertake short term planning, provide assessments, fill out paperwork, liaise with parents etc.

The Ideal SEN Teacher Applicant

The ideal candidate will have some experience working with children with more complex special needs either in a special school or in a mainstream setting. UK trained and overseas trained teachers with UK teaching experience and QTS or the equivalent are encouraged to apply.
