The SEN Teacher Job

I am seeking to appoint a specialist MLD SEN teacher for a highly successful SEN school based in the London borough of Merton. The school provides an outstanding level of care and education for young people aged 11 to 16 who have a range of needs mainly moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD).

The School

This wonderful erton SEN school is organised into two phases primary and secondary and each is in turn split based on needs and attainment levels. ASD (autistic spectrum disorders), MLD (moderate learning difficulties). Students are always active participants in their own learning and the needs of each young person are the starting point for their own highly personalised educational and therapeutic programme which captures imaginations, motivates learning and incrementally builds on success.

The Ideal SEN Teacher Applicant

I require a motivated, skilled and resilient class teacher with experience of teaching students with moderate learning difficulties. The chosen candidate will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the ability to teach effectively. You would be teaching a modified curriculum which seeks to prepare the young people for adult life through highly personalised learning programmes. The school strives to deliver a curriculum which motivates and inspires the students , so that through their enjoyment of learning, they can make outstanding progress. The curriculum has two key elements; Functional skills including life skills, communication, literacy and numeracy for the 21st century and creative learning delivered through art, drama, play, dance, music and poetry.

Benefits

You will be supported by a highly dedicated and experienced team of LSAs in class who will help you hit the ground running due to their training and in depth knowledge of the pupils. This role may involve some personal care. Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and emotional resilience are essential attributes.

You will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated education and support staff. Full training and development will be provided along with a bespoke induction programme.
