The SEN Teacher Job

An outstanding SEN school in Kingston upon Thames in South West London that caters for SLD/PMLD or physical disabilities is seeking to appoint a SEN teacher to work on SLD/ASD Post-16 pupils on Personal Development, Functional Skills, Independent Living Skills and Vocational/Work skills. The school is Outstanding (OfSTED) meeting the needs of pupils with a wide range of disabilities. Pupils make excellent progress from their starting points.

Classes themselves consist of 8/10 pupils (Mixed Post-16), with the age range of pupils being 16-19.In class you will have the support of outstanding TAs full-time. Classes are well-resourced with outdoor spaces and a hydrotherapy pool benefiting the school. A recent building project has meant that the school has additional and remodelled learning spaces along with an entirely refurbished school building. All staff benefit from an extensive programme of professional development opportunities, a huge asset for any new staff joining as professional accreditation is available to those aspiring for leadership roles.

The SEN School

The appointed SEN Teacher will be therefore joining an Outstanding school who have just introduced a new curriculum tailored to individual learning differentiations. The school has begun piloting a new curriculum and is looking for an enthusiastic teacher, passionate about helping young people meet their goals, accrediting through OCR and ASDAN. Students are afforded the opportunity to be accredited through the Duke of Edinburgh schemes and partake in ice skating, bowling, swimming, rowing, and rock climbing locally.
