The SEN Teacher Job
My client is a good Ofsted rated school in Sutton that is looking for a creative and vibrant SEN Teacher who is able to demonstrate excellent classroom practice with an up-to-date understanding of the latest developments in the UK curriculum and special needs best practise. The school supports pupils with autism and severe learning difficulties - experience in this area would be beneficial although primary trained teachers with a good track record and an interest in SEN would definitely be encouraged to apply.
The School
This large SEN school in Sutton consists of three main buildings with specialist provision for ICT, Music, Design & Technology/Art and a well equipped library. In addition to these they also have a specialist Sports Hall their "Family Room" provides a venue for a range of family activities. Outdoors the school benefits from a wonderful pond area provides an ideal space for science and quiet activities. There are also separate playgrounds for each age range.
The Ideal SEN Teacher Applicant
The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher with QTS. Recent UK class teaching experience, a clear online registered DBS and knowledge of special needs would be hugely advantageous.
You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver fun, creative, interesting lessons designed to increase stimulate independent thought, interaction and sensory engagement amongst pupils.
