The Job

Due to an unanticipated growth in numbers in their KS2 intake my client is seeking an additional primary SEN teacher to take a mixed Year 3/4 class of 10 pupils for the remainder of the academic year. The school have also indicated that a permanent contract would be on offer before the summer holidays for the right candidate.

Classes are no larger than 10 pupils and there is a deployment of two teaching assistants in every class to ensure that pupils get to access the support and teaching that they need. As a result children are offered more individual attention than could be afforded in a mainstream school.

The School

The school is funded by Hammersmith and Fulham local authority and is made up of four (soon to be five) classes for children aged 5-11 who have statements for Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school and its highly regarded staff team believe every child deserves to be able to access mainstream schooling and the national curriculum and in a mainstream setting.

Located in a wonderful, beautifully maintained building with spacious grounds near the underground in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham; the school is well served by public transport into central London and there is sufficient parking on site or in the immediate surrounding streets for those who drive. The school offers all of its pupils a broad and balanced curriculum including full entitlement to the national curriculum.

The school has a very specific ethos in terms of behaviour management and no restraint will be used at any point. Teachers and support staff will talk to students and de-escalate situations through other techniques. For this reason the head is seeking to appoint someone from a mainstream background who will be open and receptive to their pioneering techniques.

Apply today for immediate interviews subject to DBS clearance and sufficient referencing.
