We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, SEN Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Southwark, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

In this rewarding SEN Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as an SEN Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, and social skills.

The School

The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining a small but outstanding SEN school in Southwark for children with ASD and SLD needs. This is an OfSTED rated outstanding special school for pupils aged 2-11 years, who have severe and complex learning differences. Based in a purpose built new building in the heart of Peckham in the inner London Borough of Southwark. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as necessary.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.

SEN Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
