THE SEN TEACHER JOB

My client is a Camden SEN school that has a fantastic reputation across London for delivering outstanding, caring, supportive and friendly teaching and learning environment for pupils. The Headteacher looking for a creative and vibrant SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible.

They are seeking to appoint an SEN teacher for an SLD/MLD class who can demonstrate both excellent classroom practice and an up-to-date understanding of the latest developments in special needs best practise. The contract is for an SEN Teacher on timesheets initially with a permanent contract starting September.

THE SEN SCHOOL

This is a great opportunity to join an outstanding Camden SEN school. The school has a fantastic reputation across London for delivering outstanding teaching and learning for pupils with Autism and related learning difficulties. The school supports pupils with autism and severe learning difficulties including pupils with communication needs.

Based in Camden, they welcome pupils from across Greater London and surrounding areas. The school is registered with OFSTED for pupils between the ages of 16 and 19 and caters for a wide range of educational needs, from moderate learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders to more severe and profound learning difficulties, as well as physical disabilities. The school has been consistently rated as outstanding by OfSTED.

THE SEN TEACHER APPLICANT

The successful applicant will be an experienced SEN Teacher with a proven track record of delivering "good" to "outstanding" teaching in a special school environment. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver fun, creative, interesting lessons designed to stimulate independent thought, interaction, and sensory engagement amongst pupils.

Experience teaching students with Autism or Severe Learning Difficulties would be advantageous. Applications from an experienced SEN teacher from an SLD/ASD/MLD background who understands the challenges and the type of curriculum these children need are also actively encouraged. Unfortunately, due to the complex needs of the class this is not a position that would be suitable for an NQT or a mainstream teacher seeking to transition into special needs.

BENEFITS

In return you will be joining a successful and vibrant SEN school. As a SEN teacher you will be given excellent in-house training. The class is well supported by an outstanding team of TAs who are supportive and open to clear direction.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity to you, please apply today!
