The Job

Due to an unanticipated growth in numbers in their new intake my client is seeking an additional primary SEN teacher to take on the running of a new EYFS class of 6 pupils with ASD/MLD needs. You will be working in a class of 8 MLD pupils with four full time LSAs leading the class for the remainder of the academic year. The school have also indicated that a permanent contract would be on offer before the summer holidays for the right candidate.

Classes are no larger than 8 pupils and there is a deployment of four teaching assistants in every class to ensure that pupils get to access the support and teaching that they need. As a result children are offered more individual attention than could be afforded in a mainstream school.

The school

An independent specialist SEN school for children aged 4-11 who have statements for Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the London borough of Brent. The school and its highly regarded staff team believe every child deserves to access to a stimulating, sensory environment that provides each child with the skills and drive to achieve their very best. The school uses PECS and Makaton to aid communication but in this class will be at very low levels of development in terms of communication and social engagement.

Located in a wonderfully equipped and beautifully maintained building with spacious grounds in the Kilburn area of Brent, the school is well served by public transport being easily accessible from both train lines and underground lines. The school is well served by public transport into central London and there is sufficient parking on site for those who drive.

Apply today for immediate interviews for this exciting SEN teacher job subject to DBS clearance and sufficient referencing.
