SEN Teaching Assistant - Harrow - Full-Time - Feb Start

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work full time in a welcoming and well-supported special needs school in Harrow. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's daily school experience.

You will be working 1:1 with a student with complex needs, providing tailored support to help them access learning and feel safe, supported, and understood throughout the school day. The student has epilepsy, so confidence in supporting medical and personal needs is essential.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Strong background supporting children with complex needs

  • Experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs

  • First Aid training (essential)

  • Experience supporting children with epilepsy (highly desirable)

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach

  • The ability to build trusting, consistent relationships

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs

  • Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation

  • Monitoring well being and responding appropriately to medical needs

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals

  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
