SEND Tutor
Location: West London
Hours: 20 hours per week (part-time), term-time only (Monday-Friday availability required)
Pay: £30-35 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and supportive SEND Tutor to work with learners of all ages who require extra academic and emotional support. This rewarding role involves creating a positive and responsive learning environment that adapts to each student's individual needs, both in school and at home settings across West London. Some planning alongside teaching staff and regular feedback to parents or carers will be part of the role.

SEND Tutor Role:
This part-time position in West London involves delivering tailored learning sessions in collaboration with teachers, support staff, and families. Strong relationship-building and behaviour-support skills are essential to help students feel confident, safe, and engaged.

  • Deliver one-to-one or small-group tuition at school, home, or a combination, depending on each learner's needs

  • Adapt curriculum and learning activities to suit individual abilities and learning styles

  • Build trust and encourage emotional safety by working at the student's pace

  • Use positive, student-centred approaches to promote engagement and motivation

  • Support independence while providing guidance and encouragement when needed

  • Identify potential learning, sensory, or emotional challenges and respond effectively

  • Encourage communication, provide processing time, and offer flexible choices

  • Promote emotional regulation with a calm and consistent approach

  • Support students in familiar and safe environments when necessary

Essential Qualities:

  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism or SEND

  • Experience with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs is beneficial but not essential

  • Flexibility in how support is delivered and tailored to each student
