About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will lead structured lessons, deliver targeted interventions, and maintain firm boundaries to keep pupils focused, motivated, and progressing. You'll drive learning through direct instruction, clear systems, and practical strategies that strengthen behaviour, independence, resilience, and academic engagement.

Key Responsibilities as SEMH Teacher:

  • Targeted Instruction: Deliver structured teaching, adapted resources, and focused subject interventions.
  • Classroom Leadership: Maintain steady routines, enforce behaviour frameworks, and secure task completion.
  • Behaviour & Regulation: Apply consistent, firm strategies to build discipline, self-control, and focus.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track academic and behavioural progress and provide concise updates to senior staff.
  • Professional Coordination: Work efficiently with support staff, leadership, and external agencies to maintain aligned expectations.

To succeed as an SEMH Teacher, you will need:

  • Proven experience in teaching, SEMH, SEN, or high-structure learning environments.
  • A controlled, organised approach with strong decision-making and problem-solving capability.
  • Confidence leading classes and implementing behaviour and learning plans with precision.
  • A proactive, independent mindset with strong presence and authority.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
