The Teaching Assistant Job

Are you interested in supporting young people with severe learning disabilities, including Autism? We are seeking to recruit Learning Support Assistants who have the drive, creativity and a passion for teaching and learning to join a very highly regarded SEN school in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham. If so we have an exciting opportunity to join their highly supportive and welcoming team.

The successful Teaching Assistant applicants will be tasked with helping to deliver excellent support for learning under the direction of the teacher. the role will involve providing the following support:

  • Dealing with personal care needs of pupils, following procedures.
  • Providing appropriate medical interventions e.g. First Aid, Emergency medications.
  • Supporting all teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
  • Providing general support to the class teacher in the management and organisation of the pupils and
  • the classroom.
  • Creating and maintaining a supportive educational environment.

This is an outstanding special school in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham for pupils aged 4 to 19 who have a range of severe and complex learning difficulties. Pupils come from a broad range of backgrounds in this richly diverse school catchment which includes the borough of Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and the wider Havering area.
