Teaching Assistant - SEMH
Working Hours: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Reeson Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 boy who has SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health). This is a full-time position, located in Balham SW12, and the successful candidate will be working directly with the pupil to provide tailored support to help him achieve his full potential.
Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- To work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 boy with SEMH needs.
- To provide individualized support to help the pupil manage his emotions and behaviour.
- To help the pupil engage with his learning and access the curriculum.
- To liaise with the class teacher and other professionals to ensure the pupil's needs are met.
- To monitor and track the pupil's progress, and report on this to the class teacher and SENCO.
- To promote positive behaviour and social skills.
- To provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for the pupil.
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs, particularly on a 1:1 basis
- A good understanding of SEMH and how to support pupils with these needs
- The ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A relevant qualification in education or SEN is desirable but not essential.
