Job Opportunity: Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely SEN school in Harrow. This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately, with the potential to become a straight contract for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

- Providing support to students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

- Assisting in the implementation of individual education plans, tailored to the needs and abilities of each student

- Supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development

- Working closely with teachers and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

- Providing one-on-one or small group support, both in and outside the classroom

- Assisting with personal care tasks, including toileting, dressing, and feeding, as required

- Monitoring and recording students' progress, and reporting any concerns or observations to the appropriate parties

- Promoting positive behaviourbehaviour management techniques and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students

Requirements:

- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary school setting

- A patient and empathetic nature, with the ability to build rapport with students

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, colleagues, and parents

- A good understanding of special educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual requirements

- Knowledge of specific strategies and interventions for supporting students with ASC, SLD, and PMLD

- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs would be advantageous
