The Role: The school is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). A Level 3 qualification in Early Years is essential for this role, as it requires a deep understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for children in the Early Years.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, ensuring each child receives the individual attention they need.
  • Support the social, emotional, and physical development of children, promoting positive behaviour and learning attitudes.
  • Help set up and maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to assessment records.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive school community.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Participate in school activities and events, supporting the broader life of the school.
  • Uphold the school's values and ethos in all interactions with students and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent (essential).
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in an Early Years or primary school setting.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to supporting children's learning.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for early childhood education.
  • An Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
