About the Role

A supportive Greenwich primary school is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a Year 4 pupil in a small SEMH provision integrated within the mainstream classroom. The pupil requires consistent emotional and social support to access lessons and develop confidence.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will help deliver structured learning activities, implement behaviour support plans, and provide guidance for emotional regulation. You will collaborate closely with the SENCo and class teacher to tailor support to the pupil's needs.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has previous experience with SEMH pupils or challenging behaviour

  • Can remain patient, calm, and consistent under pressure

  • Understands trauma-informed strategies and behaviour plans

  • Works collaboratively with teachers and support staff

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to apply)
