Teaching Assistant - EYFS SEN Support - Reception - Greenwich (Blackheath)
A well-regarded Primary School in Blackheath, Greenwich is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to support children in a Reception class with sensory needs and communication difficulties. This Teaching Assistant role is full-time, starting January 2026, and is offered through Reeson Education, with the intention of the Teaching Assistant becoming permanent by July.
The school is specifically seeking a confident Teaching Assistant with strong EYFS experience, capable of supporting non-verbal pupils, including twin boys, using structured routines, visual aids, and sensory-based strategies.
As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting Reception children with SEN and sensory needs
Working closely with non-verbal pupils as a Teaching Assistant
Implementing visual timetables, sensory breaks, and communication strategies
Supporting social, emotional, and academic development as a Teaching Assistant
Collaborating with staff and external professionals
Requirements for this Teaching Assistant role:
Experience as a Teaching Assistant in Early Years
SEN experience, particularly sensory needs and non-verbal pupils
A calm, consistent, and caring approach as a Teaching Assistant
Commitment to a full-time role from January
