Teaching Assistant - Early Years (Reception) - SEN & ASD - Deptford
A primary school in Deptford is recruiting a skilled Teaching Assistant to work within a Reception class, supporting children with ASD and additional learning needs. This Early Years Teaching Assistant role is available immediately and requires someone confident, proactive, and experienced in EYFS.
On Mondays, the Teaching Assistant will cover the class in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring a calm, structured learning environment. This responsibility makes the role ideal for a Teaching Assistant with strong classroom confidence and experience.
Key responsibilities of this Teaching Assistant role include:
Supporting learning and development across EYFS
Working with SEN pupils, including children with ASD
Delivering planned lessons during class cover on Mondays
Supporting behaviour, engagement, and routines
Acting as a reliable and consistent presence in the classroom
To be considered:
EYFS experience is essential
Experience supporting SEN, particularly ASD
Confidence delivering lessons and managing a class
