As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will deliver clear, instruction-led support through focused one-to-one and small-group work. You'll help pupils follow routines, stay on task, and develop stronger learning habits using straightforward, goal-driven strategies. Key Responsibilities as SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Targeted Support: Deliver structured academic assistance and practical interventions.
- Classroom Execution: Implement tasks, adapted materials, and subject-focused activities with precision.
- Behaviour & Regulation: Apply consistent, firm strategies to build discipline, self-management, and focus.
- Performance Monitoring: Log key behaviours and provide direct updates to teaching staff.
- Professional Coordination: Work efficiently with staff and external teams to maintain aligned expectations.
To succeed as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Experience in education, SEN, youth work, sports coaching, or similar structured settings.
- A steady, controlled approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence following clear behaviour frameworks and executing set plans.
- A proactive, independent mindset with strong situational awareness.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
