About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils stay engaged, follow routines, and develop effective learning habits. You will work to clear support plans and help maintain a stable, organised classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities as SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Targeted Assistance: Support pupils with set tasks, structured interventions, and guided learning routines.
- Academic Guidance: Help with class activities, adapted resources, and subject-based tasks.
- Behaviour & Regulation: Use consistent strategies to promote self-discipline, focus, and positive engagement.
- Progress Monitoring: Record key observations and share updates with teaching staff.
- Professional Coordination: Work with teachers, parents, and external staff to ensure consistent support.
To succeed as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Experience in schools, SEN, youth work, or similar structured environments.
- Strong communication, resilience, and a calm, steady approach.
- Confidence following behaviour and learning plans.
- A proactive and independent working style.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
