About the Role:
You will provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, helping them access learning, promoting independence, and supporting their emotional, behavioural, and academic development. You will encourage participation, follow structured support plans, and help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personalised Support: Provide focused academic and emotional assistance based on individual needs.
- Daily Learning Assistance: Support with class tasks, adapted resources, and small-group activities.
- Behaviour & Emotional Support: Use supportive strategies to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and resilience.
- Progress Monitoring: Record key observations and communicate updates to teaching staff.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
To succeed as an SEN TA, you will need:
- Previous experience in a school, childcare, or support setting.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in following learning and behaviour plans.
- A proactive, flexible, and encouraging approach to supporting learners.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
