An 'Outstanding' Special Needs School in East London is looking for a very skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with children with Autism, Learning Difficulties & Emotional Behaviours that challenge.

SEN Teaching Assistant - East London, The School:

  • Provides SEN pupils aged 5 - 16 with access to education and behavior intervention
  • Small class sizes of a 1-8 ratio children to adult
  • Staff team of passionate individuals who work collaboratively to offer the best and most flexible teaching methods
  • Each and every student comes with a different set of challenges and only after careful planning for individuals do these students achieve outstanding progress

SEN Teaching Assistant - East London, The role:

  • To support the Class Teacher in delivering tailored education programmes
  • To be a positive role model who is able to provide pupils with useful knowledge and advice on a 1-1 and group basis
  • To help pupils understand the barriers they have to learning and arm them with strategies to overcome these so that they can achieve
  • To diffuse and deescalate behaviours that challenge
  • To be creative, able to think on your feet and think outside the box about ways in which you can engage pupils with special needs in learning activities
  • To perform personal care duties if required
