Reeson Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, two-form entry primary school in the M12 area of Manchester. This Teaching Assistant role will involve 1:1 and small group work supporting pupils in a Key Stage 1 class, primarily working with children who have ASD and SLCN.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurturing and committed Teaching Assistant who enjoys building strong relationships and making a real difference to pupils with additional needs. The school can offer a start date as soon as possible or in September, depending on the right candidate's availability. Starting before summer allows the Teaching Assistant to get to know the children and transition smoothly into the new academic year, though this is not essential.

The school offers:

  • A welcoming and supportive two-form entry school environment
  • Excellent SEND support and a collaborative staff team
  • Flexibility with start dates to suit the Teaching Assistant
  • Opportunities for ongoing CPD and career development
  • A rewarding and fulfilling role where the Teaching Assistant can grow in impact and confidence

Key responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with ASD and SLCN in a KS1 classroom
  • Building trust and promoting emotional wellbeing through consistency and care
  • Supporting the Teaching Assistant team with routines, communication aids, and sensory strategies
  • Assisting the class teacher with differentiated planning and targeted interventions
  • Encouraging pupil confidence, self-regulation, and independence
  • Working closely with the school's SENDCO and external specialists to ensure the best outcomes
  • Providing a calm, structured, and positive presence throughout the school day

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a mainstream or SEND setting, particularly those who have worked with pupils with communication or sensory needs. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is resilient, compassionate, and skilled at building relationships with young learners.

If you are a proactive, empathetic, and reliable Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term opportunity where you can make a real difference - we want to hear from you. This Teaching Assistant position offers the chance to work within a brilliant team and potentially secure a permanent post in the future.

Apply today to be considered for this Teaching Assistant opportunity in the M12 area.
