Year 2 Classroom Teacher

Due to a teacher going off on long-term sickness leave, we are currently representing a primary school situated in Wimbledon, south west London, to find them short to medium term cover as a teacher in one of their Year 2 classes. The Year 2 class is made up of 26 pupils and has a very supportive and experienced full-time teaching assistant. It looks as though the position will begin around mid to late September and will initially run through to the Christmas break.
This Ofsted rated 'outstanding' school draws its students from a diverse and culturally rich community which is reflected school wide. The school taps into the wider community to enrich learning opportunities giving their students a well-balanced education made up of both classroom lessons and real life experiences.
The school has excellent teaching and learning resources with modern technology spread throughout the school. Classrooms are big, bright and airy and there are ample unique learning spaces within each key stage area. There are useful outdoor learning spaces that can be utilised throughout the year.
The position will be for at least the first term from mid/late-September to December however, there is the possibility that this could be extend further into the school year. There is a daily rate on offer up to £180 per day and interviews will be held during the first couple of weeks back.
What you'll need to apply for the Year 2 Classroom Teacher position?
- At least one year of experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 in the UK
- QTS - Achieved through a PGCE, Bachelor of Education, GTP or equivalent
- An up-to-date DBS, ideally registered with the update service
- Two teaching related references from your last two employers
