So, it’s 2018, but what can you do to make sure that this year is your year! You’ve managed to get through the first full term of the school year, though there’s still 6 months to go until the summer holidays come knocking. The time off between Christmas and New Year is often so hectic that you often lose track of what’s what. However, here at REESON Education, we’re here to help you start the new year right.

Set Yourself Some Achievable Goals

It’s likely that as the clock struck midnight, you’d decided to set yourself a target for the year! Whether these are mini milestones or one big thing, to do with your personal life or your career, it’s important that you make sure they’re achievable. Do you want to find yourself a new teaching job in London? Or do you wish to broaden your experiences and start teaching overseas? Whatever it is, if you set your mind to it, you can do it!

Take a Look at What’s Around You

Happy mind, happy life! The less stressful the environment you’re in is, the less stressful your general day-to-day life will be. Before the students walk into your classroom, have a quick look around to make sure that everything is where it’s supposed to be. Here’s what we’d recommend doing first:

  • Move the tables around – a new year, a new set up

  • Clean your desk and get rid of any unnecessary paperwork

  • Make sure all of the updates are done on your computer/laptop

  • Update the classroom boards, take down old work ready for new pieces to be put up

Schedule Some Time for Yourself

Being a teacher is a busy job, which is why taking some time for yourself is essential. Why not start the new year right and make a list of things you want to do or places you want to go? Here are 5 of the best places to visit near London and some of the top things to do in London itself.

Happy new year! Here’s hoping that this is a great one for everyone.
