BSL Teaching Assistant

Immediate start for an experienced and keen BSL Teaching Assistant in a 'Good' mixed Secondary School in South East London.

The school is seeking a BSL Teaching Assistant that is able to support pupils with Hearing Impairment.

If successful, you will work as a full time BSL Teaching Assistant.

You will need an accredited BSL Certificate at Level 2, ideally Level 3, to be considered for this BSL Teaching Assistant position.

This will be a short term post as a BSL Teaching Assistant but could be extended.

The salary for this BSL Teaching Assistant position will be between £70 to £105 per day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

The School

A very large 11 - 18 Comprehensive School founded in 1971 which has just under 2000 pupils.

There are over 80 languages spoken by staff and pupils.

The school holds a Artsmark Platinum and 4 PTI Awards. A new building opened in 2011, providing new resources and equipment.

As part of its additional support for HI pupils, the school has a Deaf Support Centre facility.

Requirements

Applications are welcome if you are a BSL Teaching Assistant at any stage in your career, including if you are a newly qualified BSL Teaching Assistant or experienced BSL Teaching Assistant.

You can also apply if you are a British trained BSL Teaching Assistant or overseas trained BSL Teaching Assistant.

All BSL Teaching Assistant applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this BSL Teaching Assistant position:

  • BSL Level 2 Certificate or higher
  • Right to work in the UK as a BSL Teaching Assistant
  • Experience and knowledge of working as a BSL Teaching Assistant in the UK
