Pay Rate: £90-£110 per day
About the Role
A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is looking for a confident and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively in their learning and school life.
The role will involve working both one-to-one and with small groups, supporting emotional regulation, promoting positive behaviour, and helping children develop confidence and social skills. You'll be part of a dedicated inclusion team committed to making a difference for every pupil.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEMH needs in class and during interventions.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
Assist teachers in creating a calm, inclusive learning environment.
Implement individual support plans under the guidance of the SENCO.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
Strong communication, empathy, and resilience.
Calm, patient approach and ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
Team player with a proactive attitude.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
