Reeson Education is working with an OUTSTANDING primary school based in Haringey.
The Headteacher of this lovely primary school is looking to onboard an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support student in year 5 on a 1:1 basis until the end of the academic year and potentially longer.
The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 5 1:1 TA - Diabeties)
Provide support to pupil in order manage medical needs related to Type 1 diabetes during the school day including playtimes and part of each lunch break. To support pupil with learning if and when affected by changes to blood glucose levels.
To provide support in such a way that the pupil is able to feel independent but timely interventions have a positive impact on health, well-being and learning.
To feedback to class teacher any observations relating to the pupil's well-being and mental health as well as any information relating to progress or behaviour for learning during lessons.
To provide information for parents and health professionals as part of the wider class staff team.
To assist generally in the class when 1 to 1 support is not required by the pupil as part of the wider class team.
The Ideal candidate:
- Support student in year 5
- Accompany the pupil on school visits and sporting events that may fall outside of the contracted hours.
- Attend initial training for T1 Diabetes support and any further updates.
