SEN Teaching Assistant | North London | ASAP Start | £82.14-£100 per day
Reeson Education is recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a supportive primary school in the borough of Enfield. If you're experienced in working with children with additional needs and live in or around Edmonton, Southgate, Palmers Green, Enfield Town, Ponders End, Winchmore Hill, or Cockfosters, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role: This SEN Teaching Assistant position involves supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and those with EHCPs. You'll provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping children overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tailored support for pupils with SEN from EYFS through to KS2
- Implementing interventions and strategies designed by the class teacher and SENCO
- Supporting children's emotional regulation and social skills development
- Assisting with the creation of differentiated learning materials
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role in primary education
- Understanding of different SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Desirable: Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or sensory regulation techniques
