SEN Teaching Assistant | Havering | £82.14 - £100 per day | Term Time | Immediate Start
Reeson Education is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Havering. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning.
The school is based in Havering, close to Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster and Rainham, and provides a supportive learning environment for pupils requiring additional support. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive engagement in the classroom.
Role Overview - SEN Teaching Assistant
The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with special educational needs. The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support and assist with small group learning, ensuring pupils can fully participate in lessons.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant
- Providing targeted 1:1 support for pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
- Supporting small group learning activities and interventions
- Helping pupils develop positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Assisting pupils with classroom activities and curriculum access
- Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to support individual learning plans
- Encouraging pupils to build confidence and independence
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with special educational needs
- Knowledge of autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
- Patient, calm and proactive approach to supporting children
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for making a difference as a SEN Teaching Assistant
