A small but fantastically well resources independent special needs (SEN) school based in the Kensington and Chelsea area of West London is seeking an Special Needs Teacher Assistant with recent SLD experience to join their team from September on a permanent contract. Experienced Special Needs Teacher Assistants with UK or equivalent qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply today.
The successful Teaching Assistant applicant will be joining an amazing independent Kensington and Chelsea Special Needs school that provides for primary and secondary aged pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD.) The majority of the children have additional medical and sensory needs as well as physical impairments. Therefore it would be advantageous, though not essential to have experience with PECS, Makaton, Personal Care, Team-Teach and Hoisting. The classes are all supported by two full time LSA/TAs which means that you will be working as part of a highly skilled team. Each class accesses iPad gridplayer, Communication in Print and PECs to aid communication and social development.
The successful Teaching Assistant candidate will be flexible, with the ability to use their own initiative where required. Experience working in an SEN school or with SLD children would be an advantage - excellent training is available.
