Position Available: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant Location: North London Primary School

Role Overview:

The selected EYFS Teaching Assistant will be instrumental in shaping the early educational experiences of children aged 3 to 5. Collaborating closely with experienced educators, they will create a secure, engaging, and inclusive environment for children to explore, learn, and flourish.


  • Assisting in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities and lessons.
  • Cultivating a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere to support children's social and emotional growth.
  • Providing guidance to children in developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills through play and structured activities.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of a stimulating and orderly learning environment.
  • Working in tandem with the class teacher and fellow teaching assistants to ensure a seamless educational journey.
  • Offering one-on-one and small group support to children requiring additional assistance.
  • Observing and documenting children's progress and behaviour, sharing insights with the class teacher.
  • Encouraging positive behavior and reinforcing classroom routines.
  • Promoting a love for learning through interactive and creative activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with young children in an educational context is advantageous.
  • Possessing a warm and nurturing personality, coupled with a genuine passion for early childhood education.
  • Effective communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
  • Demonstrating patience and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of young learners.
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Holding a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or displaying a willingness to work towards one.
