I am currently looking for teaching assistants to join a lovely Special Needs School in Brent who require some resilient TA's to join their school immediately.
We are looking for someone who has a background in Therapy and/or degree in a related area. Ideally, prior experience within a classroom would be preferred however, this is not essential. Again, some basic knowledge of SEN would be ideal. This school primarily works with Autism, SLD, and PMLD and is ran by a fantastic Headteacher. This school is part of an academy chain and have 3 other schools within the local area. This position will start off as a full time, timesheet position and will role over to contract after 12 weeks.
What does Autism mean?
Autism which is often abbreviated to ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) could mean that individuals may have trouble with the following: Anxiety, communication, social interaction, repetitive and restrictive behaviour, varied sensitivity to certain senses such as; light, sound, taste and touch. Children with Autism may rely on different ways to communicate this maybe through PECS and Makaton.
What does PMLD mean?
Children with PMLD will have more than one disability, this could mean they may have trouble with the following: communication, hearing and visual impairments, physical disabilities, and mental health difficulties. Many individuals with profound multiple learning difficulties rely on different ways to communicate this maybe through such as PECS and Makaton.
