About the Role
A welcoming and well-structured Tower Hamlets primary school near Aldgate East Station is looking to appoint a proactive Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team from February. The role focuses on supporting a Year 2 class with a mix of whole-class assistance, small-group SEN interventions, and targeted support for pupils working below age-related expectations.
You will work closely with the class teacher to help deliver phonics, early writing, and Maths activities, while supporting pupils to stay engaged and confident in their learning. The school has clear routines and a positive behaviour culture, making it an excellent environment for a Teaching Assistant to thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is keen to recruit a Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience working in KS1 or supporting early learners
Is confident supporting phonics and early numeracy
Can deliver structured small-group interventions
Is patient, organised, and proactive in the classroom
Works well as part of a collaborative staff team
Graduates in Education, Psychology, English, Early Childhood Studies, or similar subjects are encouraged to apply, though school-based experience is equally valued.
