About the School
A well-established, high-achieving primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint a confident and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Lower KS2 team.
The school has a strong academic focus, clear behaviour expectations, and a proactive SEND provision within a mainstream setting. Leadership is visible and supportive, and staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils with additional needs are fully included while maintaining high standards across the school.
The Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide consistent, structured support to a KS2 pupil with additional needs within the classroom environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering targeted one-to-one support throughout the school day
Implementing individual education and behaviour plans
Supporting emotional regulation and classroom engagement
Liaising closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Monitoring progress and adapting strategies where needed
This role requires someone who can combine warmth with firm boundaries and maintain high expectations at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Have proven experience supporting pupils with SEN in a UK primary school
Be confident working with ASD, ADHD or SEMH profiles
Understand structured classroom routines and behaviour systems
Demonstrate resilience and consistency
