The Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide focused support to a KS2 pupil with additional needs, ensuring access to learning while maintaining classroom expectations.
Core responsibilities include:
Providing consistent one-to-one classroom support
Implementing individual education plans and behaviour strategies
Supporting emotional regulation and peer interaction
Adapting tasks to ensure curriculum access
Liaising closely with the class teacher and SENCO
The school requires a SEN Teaching Assistant who can remain calm, structured, and firm while building a positive working relationship with the pupil.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Have previous experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEMH needs
Be confident following structured support plans
Demonstrate resilience and professional consistency
Communicate effectively with teaching staff
Be committed to long-term pupil progress
Experience within KS2 is highly desirable.
