Teaching Assistant - SEN (ASD & Behaviour) - Primary School - Haringey
A supportive Primary School in Haringey, North London is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASD) and behavioural needs. This Teaching Assistant role is available on a long-term basis, with the potential to become permanent.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who require consistency, structure, and calm support to access learning and regulate behaviour.
Key responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant role include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASD and behaviour needs
Implementing behaviour strategies and sensory regulation techniques
Supporting emotional regulation and engagement in the classroom
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo as a Teaching Assistant
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
Previous experience supporting ASD and behavioural needs
A calm, patient, and resilient approach as a Teaching Assistant
Confidence managing challenging behaviour
Experience in a UK primary school or SEN setting
Applicants must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one through us.
