SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support - Haringey - Year 2
A vibrant and supportive Primary School in Haringey is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil with Autism, starting ASAP. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is full-time, running until July 2026, with a view to becoming permanent.
The child is bright, expressive and responds well to clear structure, calm support and positive reinforcement. The school provides excellent training and collaborative working, making this a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant or a Psychology Graduate looking to gain hands-on SEN experience.
As the SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support a Year 2 pupil through classroom learning and social interaction
Implement strategies from Speech and Language Therapy and SEN plans
Provide calm reassurance and structured routine throughout the day
Liaise with teaching staff to ensure consistent, supportive practice
We are looking for a Teaching assistant who:
Has experience supporting Autism (school or alternative setting)
Is patient, emotionally resilient and proactive
Can commit to a long-term role and build trust with the pupil
Teaching assistant - Role Summary:
Location: Haringey, North London
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Until July 2026 (with potential to go permanent)
Pay: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
