SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD/Behaviour Support - Haringey Primary School
A welcoming Primary School in Haringey is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism and challenging behaviour across Key Stages 1 and 2. This long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about SEN education and wants to make a real difference to pupils' lives.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCo, and support staff to deliver 1:1 and small group interventions. The role will involve supporting pupils with ASD, implementing behaviour strategies, and promoting social and emotional development.
Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant include:
Supporting children with Autism and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
Assisting with classroom learning and activities tailored to individual needs.
Implementing behaviour plans and positive reinforcement strategies.
Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
Liaising with parents, teachers, and external professionals as required.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with Autism or behavioural challenges.
Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
Ability to work collaboratively and proactively as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Knowledge of SEN interventions and strategies.

Location: Haringey, North London (well served by buses and trains, with most schools offering parking)
Start: ASAP 2025
Pay: £85-£100 per day
