Reeson Education is working with an inclusive primary school in the borough of Havering to find a committed Teaching Assistant. This Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs across Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster, Rainham, and surrounding areas.
The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with pupils who have a range of SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties. This Teaching Assistant position involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
- Delivering tailored interventions and strategies for children with EHCP plans
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO
- Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting their social and emotional development
- Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school or educational setting
- A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech & Language needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Desirable: Training in PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
