Reeson Education is working closely with a vibrant and welcoming primary school in the M20 area of South Manchester to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting in September. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who enjoys working in both the classroom and outdoor learning environments and thrives in a supportive, child-centred setting.
This role is based in a Year 2 class and involves a mix of general classroom duties and targeted support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will be confident running small group interventions and passionate about creating an engaging, inclusive, and safe space for all learners.
Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Year 2 teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Work as a Teaching Assistant both inside and outside of the classroom, adapting to different learning environments
- Provide SEN and SEMH support as a Teaching Assistant to pupils with additional needs
- Plan and deliver small group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, and social skills
- Promote a positive and interactive learning experience for all pupils as a dedicated Teaching Assistant
- Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure pupil progress and wellbeing
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers when needed as a Teaching Assistant
- Monitor and record pupil progress in line with school expectations
- Reflect the school's ethos and behaviour policy in all aspects of your work as a Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
- Confidence supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
- Flexibility to work across a range of classroom activities and pupil support needs
- Commitment to full-time, long-term work from Monday to Friday
- A proactive and nurturing approach to learning support
- A passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve their best
