Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Long-Term - M20

Location: M20, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £13.68-£15.87 per hour
Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (until July, with potential to extend)

Reeson Education is seeking a strong, reliable, and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school in the M20 area. This long-term Teaching Assistant role begins ASAP and will run until July, with the possibility of continuing beyond the academic year.

The school is looking for a confident and highly committed Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have solid experience in Upper Key Stage 2 (UPKS2), alongside the ability to support pupils with varying needs. Some SEND experience is desirable, and a proactive, calm, and resilient approach is essential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour, and classroom routines, ensuring pupils are well-prepared for the transition into secondary school. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher, providing group support, 1:1 intervention, and general classroom assistance to help pupils meet their academic and emotional goals.

Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting Year 6 pupils as a Teaching Assistant
* Providing targeted support for core subjects
* Delivering 1:1 and group interventions where required
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team as an effective Teaching Assistant
* Preparing resources and helping maintain a positive learning environment
* Supporting pupils with additional needs (SEND)
* Promoting independence, confidence, and readiness for KS3
* Upholding safeguarding and school policies at all times as a committed Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in UPKS2
* Strong understanding of Year 6 expectations and curriculum
* Confidence supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
* Ability to build rapport, motivate pupils, and manage behaviour
* Calm, resilient, and consistent approach
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Reliable, dedicated, and ready to start ASAP
